I took this course because it was a part of my curriculum for Elementary Education majors. But I did not know how resourceful this course would become for me during the development of my lessons for my methods of science class. I expected to learn about different educational software that could help me teach. Yes, this course met my expectations but it also superseded them! I now know how to use other Microsoft programs, such as Publisher, that I have had on my computer but never operated before. I feel confident about searching for other software or instructional tools to enhance my lesson. I am more educated on how to choose from a good and bad website for different software functions. The most interesting thing I learned was the Kahoot It! game. I really like Kahoot It! because it was easy to use, edit, and share. The least interesting thing I learned was the history of digital technologies.
This course can be improved if there was an option for a read-aloud text option. There was a lot to read and sometimes it would be better if the text read it aloud it me so I could take notes. I really liked how this class was mostly online but we met a few times a month to review work. This class fit perfectly into my schedule and the material was easy to follow. Also, if I ever needed to seek the instructor for help she was always available in one shape or form. I would recommend that future students of this course to complete as much work as you can as early as you can. It lessened the workload for the middle of the semester because I completed this class’s work ahead of time.
